whenever i'm depressed, thoughts of coffee talk calm me. latte & carrot cake, mango tart, mango crepe. sigh!

day 1
"Leadership springs from within. It's about who I am as much as what I do."
this sums up what i learned from class today. oh, i really love going to school. amidst the assignments and paper works, nothing beats continuous learning. didn't i mention that in my previous blog already? talk about stressing a point.
after i survive this term, i might take 2 subjects next term. let's see.
i receive a mostly meet rating in my job evaluation for last year's performance. i felt i exceeded expectations though.

the kite runner
although i've read the book and watched the movie, watching it again still makes me cry.
no amount of good doing could compensate the pain he caused his friend. there is a way to be good again, but i think it's too late.

missing the woman of democracy
august 1, 2009
3:18 am
by ninoy aquino for cory aquino
i have fallen in love with the same woman three times
in a day spanning 19 years of tearful joys and joyful tears.
i loved her first when she was young,
enhanting and vibrant, eternally new
she was brilliant, fragrant,
and cool as the morning dew.
i fell in love with her the second time
when fist she bore her child and mine
always by my side, the source of strength,
helping to turn the tide.
But there were candles to burn
the world was my concern
while our home was her domain
and the people were mine
while the children were hers to maintain.
So it was in those eighteen years and a day
'till i was detained, forced in prison to stay
suddenly she's our sole support
source of comfort,
our wellspring of Hope
on her shoulders felt burden of Life.
i fell in love again,
with the same woman the third time.
Looming from the battle,
her courage will never fade.
Amidst the hardships she has remained,
undaunted and unafraid
she is calm and composed,
she is God's lovely maid.

the 4 lands of Disney
We had the grand circle tour of the Park by riding the excursion-style train. After which is the visit in the Main Street USA where I get to see Pixar animation, featuring the spinning Toy Story Zoetrope. Nearby is the Animation Academy where I “almost” learn how to draw Mickey Mouse. Well, I indeed up with just looking around how my classmates were doing.

before mickey & i met
if there is one thing i love doing, it's travelling. nothing beats the joy of discovery. i'll be posting my travel destination from now on. and i am starting with the most recent one, the Hongkong trip. the first trip for this year and yes, finally, mickey & i met.
Hongkong is one of the world’s principal port cities and a leading financial center of Asia and the world. Hongkong offers a host of memorable tourist attractions within its compact area, always reinventing itself balances old traditional charm with modern sophistication.
....before meeting mickey ...

the witch of portobello
" I was trying to come round to the idea that there might be an invisible reality capable of interfering in our lives, but only reason I did so was because of a love I didn't want to believe I felt but which was continuing to grow in a subtle, devastating way.
I was content in my universe and didn't want to change it at all, even though I was being propelled in that direction."
Paulo Coelho (The Witch of Portobello)
